Borescope is an optical device consisting of a rigid or flexible tube with an eyepiece on one end, an objective lens on the other linked together by a relay optical system in between.  Borescope are commonly used in the visual inspection of aircraft engines, diesel engines & automotive/truck engines.  Borescope may be fitted with a magnifying device & a way to illuminate the work being inspected.  Criteria for selecting a borescope is usually image clarity & access.
